Your doctor needs recent bloods before the consult. If your GP has already run a panel and it covers the markers we need, you don't have to buy ours — send it through and we'll check it. If it's missing markers, or there isn't one, our panel is $192 at cost. One cycle runs 3 months, after which you see your doctor again. Medication is charged separately and only if you're eligible, priced against your protocol with supplies included. Australian residents 18+. Treatment is only prescribed where the treating doctor judges it clinically appropriate, and testosterone therapy is not suitable for everyone.

Unlike most TRT clinics in Australia

No monthly subscription fees.

Most TRT clinics charge a monthly membership whether you use it that month or not. We don't. You pay $100 when you see the doctor, and that's the only time your card is touched.

  • No membership
  • No recurring billing
  • No lock-in
  • Nothing to cancel

You didn't change. Your hormones might have.

Most men put these down to age, stress or a bad year. Some of the time that's exactly what it is. Sometimes it's a number on a blood test — and you won't know which until you look.

The numbers

Low testosterone is common. Getting tested isn't.

1 in 4

men have testosterone below the healthy reference range — roughly a quarter of men aged 30 to 79.

38.7%

of men aged 45 and over seen in primary care met the clinical criteria for low testosterone.

~1%

is the average annual decline in total testosterone in men from around age 30 onward.

How it works

Four steps. One of them's free.

Your bloods

Already had bloods done by your GP recently? Send them through — if they cover the markers we need, that's your step two done and there's nothing to buy. If not, order the OPTIV panel direct from the lab for $192, at cost, and results come back in 24 to 48 hours.

Use your GP's, or $192
3

See your doctor

An Australian-registered doctor goes through your results and your symptoms with you, and decides whether TRT is clinically appropriate.

4

Get your protocol

If you're approved, your TRT protocol is built around your own bloods, dispensed by a licensed Australian pharmacy, with unlimited support for the whole cycle.

Unlimited support

A cycle runs 3 months. To continue past that, you see your doctor again. That's the only time you're charged a consult fee — there's nothing monthly in between.

The blood panel

Fifty-plus markers. Not just testosterone.

Low testosterone rarely travels alone. Your doctor needs to see the hormones around it, your thyroid, your liver and kidneys, your lipids and glucose, and a full blood count — the whole story rather than one number.

Had bloods done recently? You may not need ours.

If your GP has run a panel in the last few months and it covers the markers listed here, use it. Send your results through and we'll tell you whether they're enough before you spend anything. Standard GP panels often test total testosterone but skip free testosterone, SHBG, oestradiol, FSH/LH and prolactin — if yours is missing those, you'd need the gaps filled.

$192 If you do need ours.
Paid direct to the lab, no markup.

The treatment

Replacing what's missing — carefully.

Testosterone replacement therapy tops up a hormone your body has stopped making enough of. Done properly, it isn't about chasing a number — it's about the lowest effective dose, monitored over time.

Prescribed to your bloods

Your protocol starts from your own pathology results, not a template. Dose and formulation are chosen by the treating doctor.

Reviewed, then adjusted

Repeat bloods at set intervals track testosterone, haematocrit and related markers so the protocol can be tuned or stopped.

Doctor-led clinic

Every protocol is written by an AHPRA-registered doctor, and every prescription is dispensed through licensed Australian pharmacies.

Honest about fit

TRT isn't right for every man — particularly if you're planning children. If it isn't right for you, your doctor will say so and cover the alternatives.

Man mid-lift during a training session

Who it's for

Men who want a straight answer about their hormones before they spend another year feeling average.

Men 30–60+
Noticing the drop in energy, drive and physical output that crept in over the last few years.
Active men
Training hard but losing ground on strength, lean mass and recovery between sessions.
Low libido
Wanting the hormonal side of reduced sexual function properly investigated, not guessed at.
Mood & focus
Flat mood, short fuse and fog that hasn't shifted with sleep, training or time off.
Pricing

Pay for what you use. Nothing else.

Most TRT clinics put you on a monthly membership that bills whether you need them that month or not. We charge you when you actually see a doctor. Your bloods go straight to the lab at cost, and we don't add a cent to them.

If your GP has run a recent panel covering the markers we need, you don't pay for bloods at all. If you do need ours, it's bought from the lab directly and OPTIV takes no markup on it. A cycle runs 3 months, then you see your doctor again to continue. Medication is only prescribed if you're eligible and is priced against your protocol, with injection supplies included.

Questions, answered.

The first step is free: a 15-minute call with the OPTIV team who explain the process and answer your questions. If you want to go ahead, your doctor needs a recent blood panel. Ours is $192, bought directly from the lab with no markup from us. Your doctor's consult is then $100, and that includes your personalised protocol and unlimited support for the cycle if you're approved. Medication, if you're prescribed it, is charged on top and priced against your protocol with supplies included. There's no monthly subscription at any point.
Yes, and if they're recent and complete you won't need to buy a panel from us at all. The catch is which markers they contain. A standard GP request often covers total testosterone and not much else, while your doctor also needs free testosterone, SHBG, oestradiol, FSH/LH, prolactin, thyroid function and a full blood count to assess you properly and to prescribe safely. Send whatever you have to your free consult — we'll go through it with you and tell you honestly whether it's enough, whether you only need a few gaps filled, or whether a full panel makes more sense. That check costs nothing.
Because it keeps the price honest. You buy the panel from the pathology provider at their price, $192, and OPTIV doesn't add anything to it. Plenty of clinics bundle bloods into a larger fee and mark them up along the way. We'd rather you see exactly what each part costs.
No. The pathology request is issued through our clinic. If you'd like your regular GP kept in the loop, we'll send them a copy of your results and treatment plan — a lot of men prefer that, and it's good continuity of care.
An Australian-registered (AHPRA) doctor experienced in men's hormonal health. They look at your testosterone alongside the rest of your panel, your symptoms and your medical history before making any recommendation.
You still keep your results and the consultation, and your doctor will explain what's driving your symptoms if it isn't testosterone — sleep, thyroid, iron, stress and medication side effects all show up here regularly. Where something else is going on, you'll be pointed to the right care.
Licensed Australian pharmacies, dispensed against your prescription and delivered in plain packaging. OPTIV is a doctor-led clinic, so your protocol is written and reviewed by a registered doctor and dispensed by people who do this every day.
Testosterone therapy can affect fertility and sperm production, raise red blood cell count, and cause acne, fluid retention or breast tenderness in some men. It isn't suitable if you're trying to conceive, and there are conditions where it shouldn't be used at all. Your doctor will go through the full picture for your situation, and ongoing bloods exist precisely to catch problems early.
It varies. Men commonly report changes in energy, mood and libido within the first one to two months, with changes to body composition taking considerably longer. Some men don't respond much at all — which is another reason the follow-up bloods and reviews matter.
No. A lot of TRT clinics in Australia run on a monthly membership that bills whether you use it or not. OPTIV doesn't have one at all. You pay $100 when you see the doctor, and nothing recurs in between. A cycle runs 3 months, so the next time you're charged a consult fee is the next time you actually see a doctor. There's no membership, no admin fee, no lock-in and nothing to cancel.
You book a repeat consult. Your doctor reviews how you've responded, checks your follow-up bloods and decides whether to continue, adjust or stop your protocol. If you'd rather not continue, you simply don't book — there's no subscription running in the background that you need to cancel.
