Hormone Health Telehealth in Sydney
Getting across Sydney for an appointment can take longer than the appointment itself. OPTIV Health is a telehealth service, so Sydney residents can talk to an Australian-registered doctor about low testosterone, peptide therapy and other hormone health concerns from home or work, without crossing town.
We don’t have a clinic you visit. Consultations happen by phone, and any blood tests are done at a pathology collection centre near you.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (Sydney time)
How telehealth works for Sydney residents
- 1. Book a free care call. It’s a short, no-obligation chat with our team about what you’re after and how the service works.
- 2. Doctor consultation by phone. An Australian-registered doctor reviews your symptoms, health history, lifestyle and goals. Have any recent blood test results ready.
- 3. Pathology, if needed. You’ll get a request form to take to a collection centre close to home or work.
- 4. Results review. Your doctor goes through your results with you in context, not just against the reference range.
- 5. A plan, if it’s appropriate. That might be lifestyle changes, more tests, a referral, or treatment if it’s clinically suitable. Any medicine is dispensed by a licensed Australian pharmacy.
- 6. Ongoing reviews and support. Regular follow-ups and repeat tests are part of safe hormone care, and you’ll have access to our team of pharmacists and allied health professionals along the way.
Blood tests in Sydney
Hormone assessment usually involves blood tests, and there are pathology collection centres right across Sydney.
- Where: in NSW we use Laverty Pathology and Australian Clinical Labs. Your doctor will give you a request form to take to one of their collection centres near you.
- When: some hormone tests are best collected in the morning, and some need fasting. Your doctor will tell you how and when to go. Booking an early slot near home can save a trip across the city.
- Billing: the pathology lab bills you directly. Some tests may attract a Medicare rebate and others may not, so ask the lab about its fees.
- Results: these go to your doctor, who reviews them with you at your next consultation.
Hormone health concerns we can help you look into
Our service is for people of all genders. Hormone concerns aren’t limited to one group.
What it costs
A doctor consultation is A$150, and there are no follow-up fees. Consultations are private, so no Medicare rebate applies. Pathology is billed by the lab, and any medicine is priced by the pharmacy. See our cost guide for the details.
Why some Sydney residents choose telehealth
- No travel or parking. Consult from home, work or between commitments, whether you’re in Parramatta, the Inner West, the Northern Beaches or the Sutherland Shire.
- Pathology close to home. Blood tests at a local collection centre that suits your schedule.
- Continuity. The same service handles your assessment, results and follow-ups.
- Privacy. Consult by phone from wherever you’re comfortable.
Telehealth isn’t right for every situation. If your doctor thinks you need a physical examination or specialist care, they’ll tell you and help you arrange it locally. In an emergency, call 000.
